Literature Text
You send me
bits and pieces of your world
in too bright postcard pictures
with no return address
A world of plastic cutout landscapes
garish with artificial perfection
and scribbles of hurried platitudes
I wish you would come home
and stop holding who you are
at arms length
bits and pieces of your world
in too bright postcard pictures
with no return address
A world of plastic cutout landscapes
garish with artificial perfection
and scribbles of hurried platitudes
I wish you would come home
and stop holding who you are
at arms length

Farewell
i.
i'm surprised at how easily i can break you
and leave you in the wreckage of midnight
constellations and dead stars
ii.
and your shadow crosses mine
i admire your daring, although i told you
to leave me before you burn up
we've yet to lose sight, but the distance is
enough
iii.
don't forget, i'm close behind
and i'll never let you go even if the
world detonates into a stew of
disembodied dreams and starlit memories
iv.
forgive me;
i'm still learning how to love
something forbidden
take care, i'll miss you
Literature
Thank You
In loving me,
you've helped to sand down
my roughest edges.

Forget You
I just want to forget.
Forget your face,
Forget your smile,
Forget you.
But I know I can’t,
Because forgetting you,
Would be forgetting a part of me.

Written for insecure-writers bi-weekly prompt. I think prompts are good for me. This is a totally different subject for me.
